I wonder do the schools here in Malaysia still run food fair. I remembered when I was in my secondary school, we ran food sales once a year. We prepare the food and sell to other parents or students. We were raising funds to maintain the school building and to purchase a school bus. There was a bus for sale and our school needs a bus for school excursions.
From the food sales, I learned a lot and it is education by itself. I learn how to run a small business, how to advertise and how to do market survey. I learnt that selling drinks, the famous drink rose syrup with watermelon was the most popular drink. It sold like hot cakes. School food sales can definitely teach the students some business concepts.
