I am a fan of Hong Kong radio. RTHK was the first internet radio I discovered years ago. Now it has an iPhone apps and you can listen to Hong Kong radio using Wifi. How cool is that? To install, go to your appStore and search for RTHK. The icon below would appear and just click install.

Whenever I am working from home, I would switch it on. Some of the DJ is really humorous. Humor does relieve me from a stressful workday.

I was browsing some of the website, looking at life insurance rates. I found some great deals. You can compare all the rates from one insurer to another. I like that features.

I believed life insurance is good for those who needs to support their family and just started to work. It will help your family a lot if something happens to you. No one knows what will happen tomorrow.

However I must say that as you work for a long time and built up your savings, you may not need it any more. Then you will move on to your own investment plan.

My Painting Project

One day, I saw a little stall selling DIY painting. I fell in love with it because of my itchy hand. I decided to buy a small one to see if I like it. I did the small one within 1 night. I went back again to get a mid size one.

The mid size one took me about a week. It is fairly easy to do. On the canvas, the image is numbered and in the painting package, the numbered paint is provided for you. You just have to paint according to the number. You do not need to use much water, in fact as little water as possible. It is suggested to paint one color by one color and top to bottom. For me, I paint the picture first because it motivates me to carry on.

Probably I will buy another set to do but the collection for mid size one is limited.

Property Market

Property investment is booming in the Penang Island. There are a lot of investors who are into buying property. Last week, there was a new condo being launched and I heard that people will queue for 2 days. I am not sure if it is makeup publicity. I read in a property website that the developer may have paid someone to be in the queue and spread some rumors that the property is a hot cake. I am sure there are some naïve buyers who fall for those tricks. Don’t be one of them.

If you know the property market of the area, you will be wise to know where to invest. Currently there are so many condo units in Penang that are empty. All are waiting for buyers to own it. Many could not even rent it out but they have to keep paying loan and maintenance fees. At the end of the day, the developer is the one laughing to the bank.

Let’s not make Penang Island to be a place like Hong Kong where the property are too expensive for your future generation!

I read a lot of reports on buying gold and people are investing on gold. However we don’t know how much further gold will rise. If I knew, I will put my money in. For those who already invested in gold, they are the fortunate ones.

Now I am in a dilemma, should I bank my money into gold? May I should just go and buy the real gold instead of paper. Provided I have money to do that. Well it good to dream once a while.

I read in the gossip column that one of the Hong Kong actors injured himself from over building his body in the gym. He has change a lot since the last time I saw his drama series. Now his body is more muscular. I wonder how much creatine powders he took to have that kind of look.

The thing with body building, you have to consistently build it. If you don’t, the muscles will turn into fat.

I hope the actor above will continue to take good care of his body.

Chinese New Year Little Feast

During Chinese New Year I have been eating a lot of fried snacks. Do you know I never bought any cookies or tidbits for Chinese New Year? Most of it is given by my friends and relatives. They are homemade too. I am getting small pimples at the body area, maybe overloaded with fatty stuff after eating those oily yet delicious fried chips. I am glad it is little pimples else I have to go look for acne products that work to apply on my body.

I guess my bad case of food poisoning help me to stop taking fried food altogether. Now my skin is back to normal. I still missed the Chinese New Year yew sang!

During my pregnancy, I was very diligent in rubbing extra virgin olive oil at my womb area to reduce stretch marks. However after I delivered, I still see some stretch marks around the womb area. I guess if I didn’t apply the oil, it will be worst.

I am sure some of you are like me wondering how to lose belly fat. I must say that I got my belly fat from giving birth to 2 precious kids. Initially I was very diligent in doing push up at the stomach area but laziness take control of me.

I heard from many that after delivery, it is best to go for a local traditional massage to get rid of the wind in the body. I never got to do that but most mothers here told me it is excellent. They also wrap your belly area with some traditional herbs for a day or two. You will feel good after the massage. I am not sure if it is still too late for me to get some done at this time.

Food Poisoning

I really had a bad case of food poisoning I never had before. It happens the day I returned back from KL. I wasn’t sure it was the green curry or the fried oily noodle. I suspect it was both. I was feeling nausea the whole night. I woke up in the middle of the night, applied some oil on my stomach to get rid of the wind and then…..throw up.

Next morning I had fever so I slept. The day after was better but the headache cling on. After that, it was nausea all the way. Next few days, I felt my tummy has a lot of acid. I guess I may need to get those antacids to make me feel better.

The whole week has been horrible for me and yet my work is not helping. It is piling up! I am glad tomorrow is a holiday.

A few of my friends are pregnant and time for me to shop new baby gifts. There are so many lovely gifts out there. I am always glad to hear good news about mothers having new additions. The joy just spread from one to another.

Missing Dress

I cannot believe it that I don’t have nice special occasion dresses. I guess I stop buying when I had children. Now most of the time, I get clothes for them and forget myself. Yesterday I looked in my wardrobe, only to be disappointed because I cannot find anything I can wear for Chinese New Year. I must go and look for a nice cheong sam.

I must say the opportunity to wear nice clothes is less when I moved to Penang. I guess most of the people here like to dress casually. At my work place, when I wear something nice, my colleagues will tease me about dressing smartly for an interview. Yeap, most of the time, workers here wear jeans and shirt.

Anyhow, this year I must get myself a nice dress and make full use of it. Shopping malls, here I come!

Well, it is this time of the year for me to go back to hometown with my family. It is going to be a long 4 hour drive and I hope traffic will be good. First thing first, I must make sure the car is in good condition like having a proper check such as tires with good air pressure, black oil replaced, check engine light and others.

I wished there is a car shop like Chicago auto repair that does a proper maintenance check up for the car. I read so many good reviews and testimony about them. Besides service, they do auto repair too. Well, it feels good when you know your car is in good hands and reliable mechanics are doing a proper job. Make sure you get your car check before you drive through a long journey.

Yeap I am ready to go home! I cannot wait to taste my mother’s good cooking again.
