Professionalism

I admired one of my colleague professionalism. He was impacted by severance package but UK has a good labor law that deferred his exit date. He is in the midst of kicking a project out. He makes everything to ensure that this project is successful before he leaves. He is putting 110% in making it work. He even drafted out a good support plan after implementation to ensure it is sustainable.

As opposed to my managed service contractor who has tender his resignation. He is leaving end of the month. He has been coming in late, not attending his transition meetings and giving me a lot of problems. He even told my colleague that he is not at his desk doesn’t mean he is not in the company.

Sometimes I wonder does culture really play a big part in being professionalism.

Coach Bag

I am not a handbag person, meaning I don’t carry handbag. However ever since I knew about Coach Bag, I kind of like the design. Not sure why. When I first saw the coach patchwork design in the Coach KL Shop, I like it very much. However I was rushing to go somewhere and didn’t really buy it there.

I hunt it down and I found one in Ebay. I was really skeptical of getting a branded bag in Ebay because you really cannot trust some of the sellers there. It may be replicas that they are selling. I found one seller who I have a good feeling that she is selling the authenticated one because she gave me the receipt from coach shop, coach tag and what not. By the way I got it 70% off the original price, last year.

The shipping fees were not very costly, maybe the seller misquote. The only problem I faced when the bag arrived was custom. The custom sent me a card asking me to collect the item in Butterworth, the other side.

Fortunately, my FIL knew one custom person to help me. Yes, I did pay a minimum tax on this item. I wonder how people get away from pay tax. It was worth getting it. Until today, I am still using it to travel.

It will be soon that I am going to walk into a Coach shop in US. Let’s hope I can get another one that I like that is in the acceptable price range. I got this for my mom on mother’s day.

Have you eaten this before when you were in primary school? I love to eat this and I remembered my canteen is selling at 5 sen for 2 sticks. Even today, I love to eat it. It is sold at my local supermarket.

Basically it is fried fish stuff but it taste delicious. It has some sesame seed on it. If you leave it in the fridge, it becomes crunchy. My son loves it. Too bad his school canteen does not sell it. His school canteen is pretty pathetic, nothing much is sold there.

My school canteen has almost everything. We have asam laksa, noodle soup, karipap, all kind of fizzy drinks and of coz my favorite junk food store. The canteen lady even knew me by name. See I am so popular in her store. She does give me extra noodles when I buy from her.

I also missed the ice balls with Sarsi syrup. One ice ball was sold of 5 sens. It is kind of messy to eat. Normally I just suck the icy juice. Of coz there is this ice-cream potong. You get to spin the small ferris wheel and when it stop, the needle will determined how many stick of ice-cream you get. Once I got 10 sticks. Fortunately I have my friends to help me finished it. These were sold outside of school gate which is not legal. Those were the day.

Work Out Needed

I desperately need a workout before my doctor sound the alarm. I have been busy working and hardly have time for exercise. The only exercise I have is chasing after my children. Now they have grown up, it has reduced.

How I wish I have one of those home gyms. I always wanted a tread mill. I remembered when I was working in US, I could just go down to the basement and walk on the treadmill during my free time.

It helps me relax and when I am running on the treadmill, I can think through things. I need a treadmill that I can store away easily but big enough for me to jog on it. It will be cool!

Beware Of Cheats In Ebay

I am frustrated at some Ebay sellers. They think we are fools. They tried to abuse the system and we buyers have to be alert.

A week ago, I had a bad experience. I was looking for a Lego Spongebob set in ebay for my gal. I bid and won at a very reasonable price. Guess what the seller did? First she quickly changed the invoice to include shipping to Malaysia. She was fast, she did it a few hours after I won the bid. By the way, she charged me US$42 and the box of Lego was US$26.

I wrote to her to ask her to ship to a US address since I will be going there for business trip. She re-adjusted the invoice. I paid it after she did that. Later she refunded my money and gave a lame excuse that her bf accidently step on the Lego box, therefore spoiled it. You see Lego are made to be tough. Anyway, I asked her to take a picture for me, if it is not badly damages, I will take it at a discounted price. She didn’t take any pictures but offer to find another set for me. Until now, I didn’t hear from her. I sensed that she wanted to profit from the shipping cost.

There were a lot of things in Ebay that is overpriced. I bought a Transformer The Fallen from Amazon.com for US$22.99 with no shipping cost. Ebay sellers are selling for US$30-$60. Are they crazy? Amazon.com is selling the Lego Spongebob for US$39 inclusive of shipping. Ebay sellers are putting at US$25-$40 but with a high shipping cost like US$14.70.

There are some fake bidders that jack up the price of the goods. Bottom line, beware of these cheaters! I am better off buying stuff in Amazon.com. I hope Amazon.com accept non-US paypal in the future.

Genting Resort World Hotel

Genting is a city of entertainment with the only casino in Malaysia. I managed to stay in Resort World Hotel for free. Thanks to my mom. It is a peak period in Genting due to the school holidays. You cannot really check into the hotel before 3pm but you need to check out before 12 noon.

Fortunately for my family, we have an express check in card. Instantly we got a room. The customer service person who served us was very accommodating. I can feel her stress because lots of people were waiting to be check in. However, she still wears a smile and was very courteous.

The rooms were just nice for a family of 4. It has a nice view of the theme park. I kind of like the bathroom, very wide but no bath tub. It is superbly clean. It is very near the casino and places to eat. However it is away from the indoor and outdoor theme park.

The major attractions in Genting are the casino, the theme parks, the shows and the cool air.

I am not a gambling person. I go up there to enjoy the cool air.

After walking into a bead store and spending over RM200 worth of stuff. Here is what my creations are:

Why only bracelets? That’s the only thing I would wear. Maybe I will make some necklaces. If you find any nice patterns, let me know.

Birthday Treat

I had maggi noodle for lunch so that I can enjoy my birthday treat at TGIF. However the food at TGIF was not good. My chicken was overcooked and my hubby’s pasta was too cheesy.

By the way, children eat for free but only 2 children eat for 1 family. If a family has more than 2 kids, the third one has to pay. Hrmm, I wonder what it is trying to tell us. Not to have too many children? I don’t have 3 children but I did bring a 3rd child, my nephew. He got his meal free because my in laws were there to satisfy their silly criteria. Ooh, another thing, they charged for RM2 for BBQ sauce. Oh men!

That’s it, I will not go back there again!

However the best is still the free ice-cream mud pie. It was simply delicious.

Just Like A Black Berry

Yeah I am connected! Now I basically do the thing on my notebook with my iPhone. For one, I do not have to switch on my notebook to check my meeting appointments, email and alerts. I can do it with my iPhone. I can surf my company intranet too.

Now my company has enabled the Exchange server to push email to my iPhone. I can read or reply email on the fly. It is pretty cool. And no I am not obligated to reply any work email after office hour.

With this feature, I do not need to wait for my notebook to wake up every morning. It is getting slower and I am always wondering what they put in there that takes forever to run. It is running in the background churning up all the memory. Sometimes I had to kill some processes that I know I won’t use.

Anyone knows where I can get a cheap 3G 16G without contract?

Ebay Save My Day

I have problematic skin but it has improved a lot after I have children. I used to get Dermalogica but the price had shop up sky high. I changed to Cellnique Seaweed cleaner and it is really good. However it is difficult to get the product. There is one beauty salon who sells this product. I depended on their supply for a while.

However lately, the shop was closed. I was very curious so I called the mobile number and the one who picked up the phone told me the owner sold the mobile number to her. I wonder who would want to buy a handphone number. The number has nothing special and hard to remember too. I believed she may have lied for obvious reasons.

Anyway, I was really disappointed and my last drop of cleanser is gone. So I tried to search on ebay. To my surprise there was a reseller and she sells in big size bottle and a very good price too with no shipping charges. I grabbed one big bottle. What do I do without ebay!
