  It is one very popular talk about kitchen gadget in my FB recently. Looks like every other person in my FB group is getting it. They have also put up pictures of their cooking that makes me drool. For me it is very expensive appliance and I don’t think I want to get one unless it is FREE.

  However, today I went into eBay to look for one, just for the fun. I found one that is priced at 330 EURO on bid from Germany. The bid was about to end in 5 hours. I asked my friends who have 1 about the details and brand. All was matching to the description. By the way, the details were in German.

  I Google for fake Thermomix and found that some buyer actually got a toy Thermomix from eBay. I contacted the seller and ask whether this is a real unit or toy. He said it was toy and it was in the description. Yeah the description was in German. Someone won the toy for 460EURO, pretty expensive to me.

  Anyway, beware of toy Thermomix out there! It does exist

  

• About Credit Cards Cancellation

  As you know, many will cancel your credit card due to RM50 service tax per card. My first attempt to cancel the card failed. I called into one of the credit card customer service helpline. The CS told me either I write in or visit one of the branch to fill in a form. I was hoping she will fax me the form and I can fill to fax to the bank. No such service. I know one bank that provides this service.

  I went to the bank, fill up the form and surrender the card to the bank officer. I hope that is the last I see the card. You need to clear payment before you can cancel.

  One of my colleagues told me he did that last year. He went to the bank, fill up the form and surrender the bank card to the bank. However months later, the bank sent him a new card. He called the bank and asked but the CS could not help him. She told him to check with the HQ. The CS also told him that there is no charge to the card, she suggest he keeps it. How ridiculous.

  One of my blogger friend suggested that we cc Bank Negara when we write in for cancellation. One important note, please registered the letter if you are sending in a credit card. You don’t want the mail get lost and end up in the wrong hands.

  Well, I managed to cancel 1 and have 3 more to go. I need to move my monthly payments to the one I retained. Then I am done. No more owning more than 1 card even if they give me free!

• Parking Woes

  I really have very inconsiderate neighbors and I am not sure where they learn their parking manners. Maybe it is just inconsiderate batch of people. When do they ever learn that it is not okay to do such things at ALL times!

  
  
  

  My neighbor’s visitors love to park in front of our gate. A few times when we come home, my gate is blocked by the visitor’s or relative’s car. He loves to say sorry but never sincere because he still park in front of our gate! I got really frustrated when one of my friends parked her car at the parking next to their house, she got scolded for it. First of all, she didn’t block anyone and it is a parking spot. My neighbor thinks that the parking next to their house belongs to them although it is a public road. Yet, many times, their visitors blocked my gate.

  
  
  

  Next we have other neighbors who park and take up half the road. I just wonder where they learned how to park like that. Or they think it is their grandfather’s road.

  It is a sad neighborhood when they only think of themselves or their own convenient. *shake head*

  I admired how Hong Kong or other countries enforce the law, such parking manners will be fined big time. They don’t allowed double park and create virtual parking spots. Don’t you hate it when you see motorbikes parking on a car parking spot? The police will fine every hour and the driver can get more than 1 ticket if he parks illegally for a long time. I just hope we have more traffic or security police going around our neighborhood. Crime is at a rise too!

• What do you do?

  What do you do when a “smart” engineer come to you and tell you this? In order to promote cost savings, we need to use 4 leased lines for network connectivity instead of 8 leased lines. 2 PCs will share 1 leased line. Ooh he wanted to plug 2 PCs into 1 LAN port.

  First of all, it is not leased line but LAN line. Second of all, he doesn’t know that a network switch can connect all PCs together. Thirdly one lease line cost more than RM20K per year.

  He has no clue what he was talking about and yet he comes to bother me with his bright ideas of cost savings. I was too busy with 101 things and didn’t bother to explain to him. I forwarded him to his network team. By the way, he is not even from my company but my supplier.

  I wonder did it occur to him to understand the network concept or jargons before making any cost saving suggestions. It will really look silly on him.

  Another thing that is annoying to me is when someone call you on the phone, he/she said “Who is this?” or “Where is this?”

  Life is full of strange people.

• Night Visitor

  I like to stay up late at night because it is peaceful. The children asleep and it will be a perfect time to release some stress. Yeah I know most of you gals stay up late because of you know what.

  Anyway, one night while I was watching TV at the living room and was very engrossed with the show. Suddenly I heard someone knocking on my door. It gave me a fright! Fortunately I was not watching any horror show. I hate those horror movie or TV series commercials that come on.

  I looked out through my sliding door, no one outside. The window beside the door has a grill which makes it hard for me to put my head out to see who is at the door. The only way is to open the door.

  If you were me, will you open the door to find out who is outside?? I didn’t and ignore the knocking. Later 10 minutes, I heard the knocking sound again. After awhile instead of being frightened, I was pretty annoyed. Someone has taken my peace away.

  I stood up and took a deep breath, being brave and open. Guess what? The silly cat was trying to warm itself at the side of the door and waging its tail by my door. I shoo it away.

  I think it is the rainy and cold the strayed cats are looking for shelters. Few days later, early in the morning, my hubby found the cat warming itself in the car bonnet. How to get rid of them?
