Not sure if this is real but I want 1!
I am really happy with Penang Vivahill Honda Service Center as I can see improvements, every time I go service my car. First they have these comfortable sofa chairs at the lounge for resting and reading. You can also get a cup of hot drinks like coffee or tea free of charge and no limit. Water dispenser is also available.
Next there are 2 glass rooms for people like me to work with Internet connection. I can connect my notebook to my office network and work while my car is being serviced. I wished they can install a telephone so that I can do conference too.
Today I saw a small area with small chairs and tables for children play area. They do know how to satisfy customers with children. Previously when I went to the Sg. Pinang Honda Service Center, I was really frustrated because the sales people were smoking in the place. I saw children playing in the area too. I wrote a letter to Honda GM and the government. I wonder did they ever improve the service center there. I won’t know because I do not go there anymore.
However with Honda service, they charged an arm and a leg. It is fairly expensive even after they give me VIP discount. Their mechanics are very young and they cannot fix my car problems. They have a lot of explanation on the cause but no action to fix it. Now I need to find a good mechanic.
I collected my car from the airport car rental. I asked for a Japanese car because I will be familiar with that. They gave me a Nissan Altima. A very cool and high tech car. I went to the garage to take my car. I was stuck there for more than 20 minutes.
First problem, I cannot find the car keys. The agent told me that the key is on the door lock. Yeah right! Second problem I cannot find the electric socket (smoking plug) for my GPS navigation system. It was hidden in the compartment between the seats. Who would have guessed?
The key that does not look like a key:
The key slot:
Thirdly, I cannot find the ignition and I don’t know how to start the car. By the way it is a hybrid car. I learned that in order to start the car, you need to place your foot on the brake and push the power button. Yes there is a power button, just like your computer. 😯 I wonder is there a reboot button.
Ignition:
Fourthly, this I know, there is no hand brake. It has a foot brake. You have to remember to release the foot brake before driving.
And it is one of the noisiest cars I driven. Not the engine, the engine has no sound. It beeps if you forgot to put on seat belt, switch off headlights, change to park gear, lock your doors or leave your foot brake.
Hybrid car uses electrical and fuel to run the car and supposedly very fuel efficient. The Nissan is a very stable car. I flew 120 km/h and it never shook a bit. I am glad I can experience driving one of these cars. It was a great discovery of a hybrid car. Next time, you cannot find the ignition, just press the button.
My hubby decided to spray paint our old car. It is still in good condition after 6 years but there are scratches here and there. Honda is a reliable brand, hardly got any major problem. We do maintain it probably and service it constantly.
A few years back, I was tempted get a Honda Civic, but the trade in price wasn’t very attractive. Later we decided that we do not need a new car but put the extra money into some investments. I kind of like the previous design but not the current one as the back doesn’t look as grand. I heard the new Camry looks better and very spacious. Let see how Honda tops that. If ever I strike a lottery, I may buy a Honda Accord.
I must say the mechanic did a good job of spraying the car. He put a special coat on top and baked it to make it shinier and longer lasting. Another mechanic quoted us cheaper but he is spraying it in his backyard with no garage. We pay a little more so that the color will maintain for another few good years. If you want to spray paint your car in Penang, let me know, I can recommend you my mechanic.
Anyway, my hubby took some pictures of the before and after look.
