I love looking at crystal. It is beautiful and the reflection of the colors cheers me up. Two years ago when I was in Singapore, Swarovski Crystal were having a sale. I got 3 lovely figurine crystals. I wanted to get a flower too but I burst my budget. Hey guys, crystals are a great present for your love ones.
I can sit there for hours admiring the crystal. I would like to grow my collection one day.
Finally my new notebook and a 17 inch LCD display came. At my workplace we get a new notebook every 3 years. It is a technology refresh program. The brand is HP nc4400 and there were some design flaws that I spotted. Firstly the USD ports are all over, right left and back. Secondly, the top left mouse button is a bit cacat (not in order). Thirdly, the power button is not very visible. I am still looking for the reset button.
The great thing about the notebook is that it comes with a DVD Writer. The notebook has thumb print security recognition. You can steal my notebook but you cannot access to it without my thumb print. š One more thing, it has 2G RAM, super duper fast!!!
I will be busy moving data, files and software from my old notebook to the new one. How I wish I can just image it over.
Many mothers have asked me about Google Reader and how it works. It is simple to use.
There is no installation is required. Which means you can go to any computer to login to read blogs. You just need a google account. If you have a gmail account, that will do. Go to http://www.google.com/reader and Login.
To add blogs, just click Add subscription and key in the blog url. You donāt even need to know the blog type, the feed URL and other technical details.
When you click āAll Itemsā, the blog name and titles will appear on your right frame. You can even click to go from blog to blog on the left frame. Some asked me how I can tell whether they are sponsored post. I can recognize most paid post by the titles.
If Google reader can add filter, it will be perfect. As I can filter you know what post.
Thank you for all the awards that you bloggers have given to me. I have received 6 NICE AWARDS from Chinnee, Rachel, Tracy, Vien, Sharine and slavemom. One LOVE YOUR BLOG Award from Vien. I am hanging these awards at my sidebar.
This really makes me grin from ear to ear. Blogging is so fun now because I have made so many friends in the virtual world and nothing can take the friendship away. That is the most precious of all. Secondly we are all making extra cash by blogging by advertising products for companies. It is just so cool.
If anyone wants to join the wagon and do not where to start, talk to me. I am not a pro but I believe I can help you to start. By the way, I was so happy when I made the highest totaling US160 for one day.
Sad to say in the coming days, I many not have the time to spend blogging as I have new role in my full time job that may take up a lot of my time.
Guess by now, a lot of you have heard about the branded Anya Hindmarch āIām Not A Plastic Bagā. Lately I been reading blogs that many blogger mothers brought it either the original or replica of it.
The product spearheading the trend is a bag made from unbleached cotton, which cost Ā£5 at selected stores. I am not sure why the price hikes up in Ebay for US200? Maybe the demand is there but supply is low?
Anyway, the other day I went shopping in Giant and found this. The cost RM2.50 and does the same thing. Why spend so much on something that does the same thing? Beats me??!!
By the way, I will make it a point to carry it to any shopping stores and hopefully I will use less plastic bags. Save our Environment!!
My Google has just gone crazy. Now it is speaking German language to me. Every time I go to Google.com, it will redirect to google.com.de. I checked my control panel regional setting and it is set correctly to English, country: Malaysia.
I cleared my cache and deleting all the cookies. It is still showing German default. Funny is that not only the search is in German but whenever I leave a comment on blogger blogs, the dialog is also in German.
Finally I found the culprit that my proxy is diverting it there. Hrmm, my Britain proxy will direct it to German Google. All the while I thought Britain will use English, thatās where English comes from right.
With the increase in ads networks for blogger to earn extra cash and for some a living, bloggers are blogging like mad. I was away for 4 days and my Google Reader has 300++ blog posts unread. 52 blog posts from one blogger is the highest I have in my Reader. I cannot imagine, some one can write more than 10 posts per day. It is really crazy.
I must say that Google Reader is the best reader I have came across. You can just add the blog url to the subscription without having to know the feed URL of the blog. Secondly, you can scan through the post by titles and do the reading there. The most important feature, you can skip sponsored posts. Opps, donāt let the advertisers know.
I know a lot of bloggers who have more than 1 blog, maybe 3-4 blogs. How do we readers keep up with those blogs? Not only that, I can see that many bloggers will sacrifice the quality of their blogs over $$. It is just so sad.
I always window shop in Ebay but never actually got anything except now. I suppose most of the stuff that is sold locally at ebay, we can get it in the local stores. Most of the time, the things I want is abroad and shipping is costly.
Last week, I surf through Ebay and something caught my eye. A nice read star pendant for 1 Pound which is RM7. Cheap deal! It is pretty too and I decided to get for Emily. After winning that bid, my adrenaline runs high and decided to get other stuff. Here are the stuff that I got:
With Ebay it is simple to buy stuff if you own a paypal account. You bid, wait and if you are successful, you pay. Your stuff will be delivered to you. Set a limit to how much you want to bid so that you do not overpay. A few things to note watch out for cheaters and read seller feedbacks to see if they are genuine. Once I bid for a watch, there was no bidder for a few days before I bid. After I bid, suddenly bidder start cropping in. I suspect something fishy and refrain from bidding from that seller.
Hey you can even setup your own online store with ebay. I am sure Malaysia has a lot of good stuff that the other side of the world needs.
If you have really dirty stain up your microwave and it is difficult to remove. You can take a big bowl of water, squeeze a few lemons onto the bowl of water and dump the lemon in if you want. Close the microwave and turn it on for 5 minutes until the water is boiled
The vapor of the lemon juice will moist the dirt in your microwave. You can use a damp piece of cloth or paper towel to wipe it clean. The dirt will come out. One good thing about lemon, it will give a nice lemon odor for your microwave. Simple.
How many of you are environmental friendly? Do you put an effort to help the environment? It is really sad that many of us are aware that we need to use less plastic bags, recycle and use less disposable stuff but we donāt really put an effort to do it. Do it for the next generations to come.
Here are some tips where you can help the environment.
1. Reject the use of plastic bags. Bring your own shopping bag if you have to. I keep one in the car.
2. Conserve water and do not let water running without use.
3. Car pool if you can.
4. Use energy saver lights.
5. Fix all leaking pipe.
6. Print on double sided or avoid printing if you donāt need it.
7. Do not simply dispose used batteries. Read the label instruction to find out ways to dispose of it.
8. Recycle!
9. Limit the use of disposable utensils.
10. Buy environmentally safe products.
Very often, the cafeteria lady will give me a plastic bag whenever I buy junk food. I have been refusing to take and yet she still offers. Sigh. Oh please help the environment for the future of your children!
