I remembered in my school days, I was taught to keep to the left side when walking. It is just like how we drive. When I go up the stairs, I need to keep left. I wonder did you have the same teaching. I found many did not because in my work place hallway, people just walk however they like.
These tend to bang into me when they corner on the right side. Sometimes these people like to take short cut.
And then there is the escalator. Malaysian escalator has no standard. Some time the left side of the escalator goes up and sometimes the right side goes up. They are a confused lot.
At the escalator, people likes to stand in the middle blocking people who want to go down fast. Haven’t they learned to keep left and leave the right side for traffic flow? I believed in Singapore, signs are everywhere to make sure people are aware and do the right thing.
Keep left next time you walk yeah except when you are in a different country. Different county has different directions.
Don’t you hate it when a shop offers you a free voucher that is useless? I have received many of these vouchers and it a marketing scams. Too bad I cannot report them to anyone. Sometimes these companies think we are stupid or greedy.
Here are the top 10 loser vouchers I received:
1. Free $10, you can use it next month on certain range of books.
2. Free $5, you can use it next month if you spend more than $10.
3. 3 Free $10 vouchers, you can use it next month but a single voucher for each item.
4. Free $10, you can use it on your next purchase next month.
5. Free $10, you cannot use it on grocery items, cosmetics or promotion items.
6. Free $5, you can use it on your next purchase expired end of the month.
7. Free $10, you can use it if you spend more than $100
8. Free $10, please collect the voucher in the nearest branch next month.
9. Free 1 set meal if you purchase 2 sets.
And the top 10 loser voucher is……..
10. Free $10, you can only use it on 31st Apr 09. (Opps, there is no 31st in April)
No wonder my wallet is always full of vouchers and I never know when which one expires on what date. Yeah they cannot make thing simpler for customers.
However, I like Tesco because when they give vouchers, you can use it any day and any time with no condition. The expiring date is 2 years from the date issue.
If you don’t want to give genuine vouchers, please don’t give it! I rather you keep it.
What do you do when you do not have Internet? The other day when I was having a telecon at night, working from home, my streamyx went down. It was frustrating because I cannot view the presentation. After the meeting, I didn’t know what to do as I cannot surf or work. I had to resort to watching TV. My friend did the same thing.
I faced the same problem every time I return back to my hometown. No internet available in my parent’s place. Today I was at LowYat Plaza with a mission to source for the cheapest way to get myself on Internet. You cannot put a techie like me without Internet.
I got myself a Vadafone USB modem with Celcom Broadband Prepaid Pack. Celcom Broadband Prepaid is a life saver for me as I can pay for the internet when I need it. No monthly fee, no activation fee and no contract. The daily rate is RM6 and the weekly rate is RM20. I can live with that.
It is my backup solution if my streamyx goes down. With the USB modem, it is plug and connects. Wah lah, I got myself connected within a few minutes. The USB modem provides HSDPA connection with 3G. It is just so cool!! I wonder if I can plug the Celcom SIM into my iPhone?
P/S: Performance is not bad.
Today I am going to show you how to weave a cross. Usually most people would use palm leaves to do it. However, I would use a pandan leave because it gives a little fragrant and you can keep it in your handbag or drawer.
Step 1: Take a strip of pandan leave. You can split it into 2. Make a L shape with a little triangle in the middle.
Step 2: Fold the triangle downwards twice. You will end up a square covering the triangle.
Step 3: You take the left strand of the leave, move it backwards to make a loop and go through the pocket of the square. Tighten it to have a square pocket.
Step 4: Weave the leave through the pocket to make the vertical bar of the cross.
Step 5: Weave the leave through the back pocket to make the horizontal bar of the cross.
Wah lah…you have a nice cross. Adjust it to make it proportional.
Happy Easter to all!!!
If you do not have sufficient points, you can opt to go with special buy, paying cash with minimum points. I kind of like this idea because I can buy stuff at discounted rates. Do check the price properly, it may not be the best price for some items.
I have already identified some items I would exchange for. Looks like I will make my credit cards worked harder. 😛
I found this cool website: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2009/03/earth_hour_2009.html that show us the earth hour around the world. The pictures capture before and during earth hour of major landmark in the world. You can turn off and turn on the lights in the picture. However loading could be slow if your broadband speed is low. Here is one of the pictures below, the rest please go to the website above to admire it for yourself. Too bad, they didn’t have the Penang Bridge.

I pulled out my DVD drive from my notebook and everything went upside down. Yeah the screen turned upside down. I was chatting with a friend and I have to turn my head to read what she was typing. She told me to reboot my notebook. I did reboot, put it to safe mode but it doesn’t help.
I had to Google for answer. It is putting my brain to the test because I move my mouse right, it went left. I move it up and it went down. Fortunately the mouse clicks are the same. I have to retrain my brain to think opposite.
Oh well, finally got the answer to turn the screen right side up by going to the display screen with all windows minimize. Right click -> graphics options -> rotation -> normal. I wonder why do they have this option to begin with??!!
