I am in US and it is freezing here, for me, that is. It is 9°C and every eating place I go, they served me ice water. Like I need to warm myself up with ice water. Ice water is not really good for health. I mean why do you want to freeze your digestive system? It probably will disturb it and it will not function as it is suppose to.

Don’t drink ice water, drink warm tea. I had developed some sneezing and nose congestion when I was here, it may be due to allergy. After I drank some warm tea, my nose cleared. Feeling so much better. Please do not serve me anymore ice water.
Anyway, what is happening in the States here? Lots!

Coach outlets on Sale! Some bags were a good buy like tote bags, swingpack bags and wristlets. And I got my poppy!

Apple is making an announcement today with a new launch of a new gadget. I wonder what it is. Some say it is a tablet PC.

Toyota Big US Recall and halting sales until the root cause is found and solved. Looks like the car suddenly accelerate and accelerator jams. Only new models manufactured in North America. I am feeling a little nervous because I am driving a rented Toyota Corolla.

Ok I am practically broke from shopping. I will be doing some window shopping only, that is very sad.

Should have collected the car tomorrow! But I didn’t, so ended up a tour around the airport. How did it happen?

You see I depend on the GPS when driving in US. I am not sure what happen, the GPS wasn’t cooperating. I just touched down after more than 15 hours flight. Fortunately I could sleep after asking for 2 blankets and a pillow, stacking it up and put my head on it. It was a full flight and not a pleasant one.

Anyway, I decided to go collect the car after I land. The GPS given to me is a new unit or model and I thought I was not familiar with the new software. The GPS kept going off. Usually if I go the wrong way, it will say recalculating. It didn’t but kept going. It kept saying I was near the destination. The destination is 10 minutes drive away.

Then I figured it out. I relocated the GPS from the left side to right site. It work perfectly and thank God I am safe in my hotel now.

Do you get hassle with insurance agents? Most of them do phone calls and knows nothing about his/her caller. However they hope the caller will do business with them. How successful are they? Not very because most of the time the caller will avoid them and said they are busy or want to hang up the minute, they hear t is about insurance.

It is a tough business out there but it is not impossible. Lots of successful insurance agent out there who earn more than a decent pay. It is all about insurance marketing. If you are an agent, read more about how you can be successful.

Visitation To Old Folks’ Home

I have been busy doing 101 things before I fly. Imagine when I come back, it will be only 2 weeks before Chinese New Year. I volunteered to help my church to get goodies for an old folks’ home. I went on a shopping spree.

Shopping is my natural fat burner. Of coz, I have a budget to keep when buying all the good stuff. I got Milo, Horlicks, Oats, Lychee, Longan, Japanese mushrooms, Chinese black fungus, Nestum and others food stuff. Guess what, I burst the budget a little but I contributed the difference.

It feels good to do things for old people. It is sad that I miss the opportunity to visit them as I will not around. Hope there will be another chance.

Handy man I am not but I can recognize spring plungers if they were in front of me. I just learn that it is easier to install spring plungers than normal spring. If you don’t know where to find one, go to ReidSupply.com. I bet you can find any spring plungers there.

Actually I don’t mind learning about being a handy man. Now most tools out there make it easy for us to do any installation or fixing. Let’s hope in the future, it will be just plug and use.

It is a trend now for people to shop online. It is very convenient for everyone. I really hope that Malaysia will advance in this area. I heard some local sites are getting very popular but the technology of a one click purchase is not there. Meaning, the end to end transaction is all done online without any manual process.

Hey now you can almost get anything online. You can even buy diet pills online or contact lenses.

If the online shopping is popular here, that will surely put a hole in my pocket.

Hunger Strikes Again

Funny I am getting hungry easily. Is this a sign of old age or hormone changes? I am not sure what is happening to my body but it is weird. I never had this problem when I was younger. I may need some natural appetite suppressant to keep my appetite away.

One evening I had a heavy dinner, I ate rice, a drumstick and 2 vegetables. It was at 7pm and by 9pm, my brain is hunting for food. I had to open my junk food cupboard to see what I can munch.

Of cause I always buy extra vegetables like carrots, celery, cucumber, green beans or fruits to snack on at night. Munching vegetables and fruits is definitely healthier than munching junk food.

Addicted to Drama Series

My mom started to catch Hong Kong TVB Drama Series when I was young. These drama series are just like the soap operas in US. I caught on because every night, I watched it with her. Believe me we both can really watch until way pass midnight.

Recently I watched Off Pedder, a comedy TVB series. I like it and was addicted to it. I started watching from episode 200 onwards. Later I found that the first 50 episodes were very good. In Cantonese, I am like boiling drama series meaning watching it every night.

Sometimes, I can watch 5 episodes at a time because it keeps you in suspense and I want to find the answers. Well, due to this, I am a little deprived of sleep. A few acnes are appearing. I need some acnefree cream. I need my beauty sleep and had to reduce the time spent on watching this. Don’t get yourself started.

Fun Team Building

I was invited to a trainer team building for 2 days at my workplace. The fun thing is I get paid to join this team building. Paid for fun and I am serious! Today was the first day and I had great fun. It is all physical challenge with management lessons behind it. At the end of the day, muscles were aching.

The challenges I like was this, 3 members in a team, 2 members were blind folded and the other to guide using verbal communication. The objective is for the members to finish a series of obstacles.

From the trainer observations, the funny ones that make me laugh.
1. The guide started pointing the blind members to go to this and that direction. Hello… blind members cannot see.
2. One obstacle where one of the blind members has to pick up 4 different colored chips. The guide kept telling the blind member that it is the wrong color and asked him to pick the correct color. Hello…blind member cannot see colors too.

Last challenge was to keep a ball up in the air as long as possible. I like this because we came up with a near to the best strategy. We hit around 48 times before the ball fall to the ground. Good eh.

Looking forward to the second day.

Wrinkle Cream

I am not getting any younger and that is sad. I am starting to see some wrinkle below my eyes. Maybe I should source for a good eye wrinkle creams. If I apply it early, the wrinkle may not appear so fast. I am keeping my finger cross.

Study has shown that our cells started to deteriorate at the age of 30-35. That is when we really need to take care of our body. After this age, we need to take careful consideration of our food intake.

Sleep and drinking lots of water also helps reduce wrinkles. I am into eating more vegetables and fruits. Let’s hope my wrinkles will not develop so quickly.

Painting Is Hardwork

Painting the house is really a tough job. I painted 2 rooms last month. I am glad we have rollers. I remembered during my dad’s time, there wasn’t any roller or roller was expensive. After painting one wall, he gave up and called the contractors to finish the house.

The painting job helps me to build muscle fast. I mean my arms after moving up and down many times were in pain the next day. Did I see any muscles? Maybe a little. *wink*

It was a good exercise and I am glad I did. One of the accomplishments for me for year 2009 is completing 2 rooms in 2.5 days.

I heard that this place is like a second Hong Kong, maybe many Hong Kong folks have moved there. I never been there before and hope to go in the future. Toronto has many places of attraction and romantic places to go.

I like the Toronto hotels especially the elegance Le Meridien King Edward. It has a very traditional look but provides a modern sensibility. It is located centrally and link up to the major highways.

I am always loyal to one car insurance company because they have provided me a great service. Among the car insurance companies, this one has given me an assurance that they are there when I need them.

It happens many years back when I met with a bad accident. I wasn’t hurt but my car was badly damaged because I was sandwiched in between. I didn’t know what to do next. My car insurance company made arrangement for me from towing to fixing my car to claiming for damages. The agent helped me to claim third party loss of use of my vehicle. I am so glad I am with them till now.

Life Changes

I used to get a lot of wedding invitations but now it has reduce significantly. Maybe because most of my friends are already married. The baby’s shower invitation has increased significantly though.

I remembered that was one year I received like 6 to 8 wedding invitations, every other month someone is getting married. My pocket almost burned a hole because of buying gifts for the married couples. However it was worth it because it is a happy occasion.

I wonder will I receive any wedding invitations this year.

I got my hands on the Mini 110 HP Netbook. It is small and very light. I am glad it came with XP rather than Vista/Windows 7. It is installed with HP Games too. It does everything I need in there. It is very good for those who just want to access Internet, FB and blog. It is definitely suitable for traveler.

Well this unit got a 3 years warranty and I hope it lasts as longer than that. I heard that many notebooks bum out after 1 year.

Green Penang

Besides good food, Penang is going green. I like it. Now if you are coming to Penang and shop here, remember to bring your own recycle bags. If you haven’t heard, no plastic bags will not be provided from Mon-Wed in most supermarket and shopping malls. If you need one, you have to pay for it.

I always keep a few bags in my car. Being a big prawn, I always forgot to take it out. Anyhow, I still can get it from the car if I need to.

Now for garbage, I get the biodegradable plastic bags. It is slightly more expensive but it helps reduce garbage. I found it in GIANT and green in color.

I know some supermarket use those plastic bags too. Once I store my stuff into those bags and it degraded into pieces. I had to clean up the mess.

I like the Green Penang, let’s keep the garbage out for the next generation.

Tile Or Not Tile

My front porch has cement flooring and I am in a dilemma whether to tile it or not. It has its pro and cons for tilling.

I was browsing the porcelain tile online web sites and I like few designs. It will make my porch looks nicer and neat. However with the porch tiled, I need to wash my porch every week. With my car parked there, the car may also spoil the beautiful tiles. Besides my children is having fun drawing on the cement floor.

Maybe when my children are older, I will come back to shop for tiles.

Deceitful Cup of Tea

No pun intended. I have been deceived by Lipton and next time I will stick to Boh. I bought a packet of Black Kiss Milk Tea. It is something new in the market, I thought I give it a try.

After I made my first cup, it smell and taste like coffee instead of milk tea! I looked at the ingredient, it has coffee powder….YEAKKKKKKKKKK!! I get sick when I drink coffee and they should put added coffee in the front of the label. If I have bad allergy towards coffee, I will sure sue them!
