Absolutely love Shabu Shabu at Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park in Klang Valley. After a few days of eating the Chinese New Year food which consist of a lot of meat, my family decided to eat something soupy with lots of vegetables to wash down the meat.

We chose Shabu Shabu steamboat. It is a buffet style with conveyer belt to serve you. You can pick anything from it. It has meat, seafood, lots of vegetables, bean curd (taufu), seaweed, egg and mushrooms. They have pork, beef and lamb for meat. I love them all, it is cut into thin slices and taste superb.

I like it because each individual has its own steamboat pot and soup. They have tom yam, miso and chicken soup. For dessert, they have free flow of fruits and ice-cream.

I will certainly go back again. Let’s hope they open one here in Penang too!

Every time I sleep in an air condition room, I get dry throat and lips. I always wanted to get a humidifier to make the room less dry. If I am getting one, I should get one that I can buy the humidifier filters online to save me from hassle. Hey YourFilters.com has a wide range of filters.

Now buying things online is simple and most of the time, you get shipping free. If they can remind me when to change the filter, it will be superb!

Tethering With iPhone 2G

In lay man’s term, I can surf the internet on my notebook using Internet connection from my iPhone. How cool is that? Yeah I am in KL now, no free broadband available. I have to make do with my iPhone internet.

After researching I found a very simple solution using PDANet software. PDANet will make my iPhone into a router. Cool eh?

First step is to create a adhoc wireless network. I am using Win XP wireless. To do that, go to Control Panel -> Network Connections, select Wireless Network Connection & View Wireless Connection. Go to Change Advance Settings -> Wireless Network -> Add. Create a SSID, uncheck “The key is provided for me automatically”, create a network key for security purposes, check “This is a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network; wireless access points are not used”. Everything else is default. Now connect to the newly created SSID.

Once you have done that, go to your iPhone & install PDANet using Cydia. The phone needs to be jailbreak first if haven’t done so. Next go to your wifi and select the newly created SSID and key in the password. Run PDANet, it should detect your notebook. Finally open a browser and start surfing as you are CONNECTED.

Reunion Dinner

Finally I got to be back and eat my mom’s delicious home cook meal. Now I am full to the brim. Tell me how to reduce body fat? Every time I come home, she will cook up a scrumptious meal for my family. I must say that she is a good cook too.

Today it is the Chinese New Year Reunion dinner and I am happy to be back. I come back every alternate year. Tomorrow my home will be a very noisy but happy place. My aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives will come to visit us. There will be a lot of catching up and probably mahjong time. It is definitely great to be back.

Wrong Pants

Last year I went to the States, I got my aunt a pair of pants size 16. She claimed it is too big for her. Maybe after reading the weight loss supplement reviews and took action. Not sure what she did but she did lost a little weight.

This year I bought her another pair of pants size 12. Lets’ see whether she can wear it. I wrote it down that she wore size 14 but I don’t know how I bought size 12 instead. Let’s hope she can fit into it.

Yeah it is difficult to get pants her size in Malaysia. Big size clothes are very few, not like in the States, readily available. I should take her there shopping.

Garmin GPS 265WT

I always wanted to get a GPS but I do not know which model to get. I also do not know whether it will work in Malaysia or has Malaysia map. Thanks to a group of developers, they produce Malaysia map.

Garmin has a lot of GPS models which confuses me. I really wanted one with the minimal features and cheap. Of coz not a old model that will be discontinued. I went to search for a Garmin model chart for something that is right for me. You can Google for the comparison chart.

Before I went to the states, I also search for Malaysia map that can be loaded to the model of my choice. I got the Malaysia maps from Malsingmaps.com. It is very easy to install the map, just drag and drop to the GPS folder when you connect the GPS to your notebook.

I was fortunate when I saw Costco was giving rebates for GPS 265WT, the model I selected. It took me a while to make a purchase. I am glad I did. Amazon sold a little higher. GPS 285W is selling at a very low price.

Now I have been playing with it and it works in Penang. I am going to test it out in Kuala Lumpur which I always get lost there. Ipoh too, to find good place to eat!

Good Riddance Celcom

Usually it takes me more than months to use up RM100 reload card for my mobile phone. Celcom suck it all up in 1 day. I called Celcom support to find out but the support staff said Celcom network is not meant for iPhone. What a statement to get rid of customer??!!

The staff told me that my iPhone is accessing internet. I asked them to tell me what server my iPhone is accessing. They cannot tell me. Believed me I know how to switch off APN/Edge and even turn off push feature on all my email accounts. I have SBsettings & BossPrefs to disable Edge, 3G or any Internet access through telco.

Surprisingly, it starts sucking my money after I return from travel. I suspect that Celcom must have reset my configuration on my account. Previous 2 months, it was good as I have no charges on Internet.

Anyway, I hop back to my good old Digi. Service was superb, activated my phone in less than 24 hours. Digi, please improve your signal at my home and my office. If you do that, I will stay on forever with you!

I was in US at the right time again. Coach was on sale. Yeap, it was pretty good sale because some bags were 50% off and others were given additional 30% off. It was a good bargain. I got my poppy design coach, one for my mom and wristlets for my cousins. I tried to snap some pictures but the staff stopped me.

I went to 3 coach stores, one in Gilroy, one in Petulama and one in Great Mall. Gilroy gave the best discounts. However there were not many choices there. Great Mall has more selections.

wii is very popular in the US. Wii is a Nintendo video game station. Every other family may have just bought one of these.

With any video game station, a parent required to limit children from playing it. It is good for children to have some playing time outdoor. I called it exercise. It will generate a more healthy living for children and your family.

Video games are good to simulate the brain. However exercises are good to simulate the muscles. Everything needs a balance.

I must say that Samsung has the most variety and affordable electrical products. One of my friend won a Samsung LCD TV, it was a good quality TV. It is stylish.

I have wanted to change my TV to a flat screen. Recently I heard that a child was killed because a big fat and heavy TV fell on her. It was a dreadful accident. It is time to think about changing to a lighter TV to reduce the risk of accidents.

Samsung will be a good choice for me to survey. I am sure I can get one TV that I liked.

I have been with my life insurance plan for a very long time. Well when I first bought it, it was to entertain my friend who was my agent. It was a first job and I had to give her some moral support. The plan has a little investment in it. However the return is not that great.

I do not expect much from it, after all, I just want to be protected. It is funny because when I first bought it, I wasn’t really thinking about it. Now that I have a family, maybe it will be some financial help for my family if one day I am not around or I have terminal illness.

I am still not sure whether I made a wise decision but it is a peaceful one.
