Today I went for my complimentary yearly blood test. Due to the reason I have my thyroid totally remove, I need a blood test to check my thyroxin level in my blood. I will order a full blood test since the doctor is already pricking me for blood.
I am one person who hates pain. During my labor, I kept asking the nurse, is it painful when contraction kicks in. I will ask my Gynae to stand by all available pain killers there is. I am glad that I never felt any contraction else I may need to go for a oxycontin detox addictionafter labor.
Anyway I am glad my test results came back all good with no cholesterol problem. I need to maintain my good results in cholesterol level. However I complained to the doctor that I am still easily tired. He pointed to my blood result and told me that this is the cause. Guess where he pointed to?
Sigh, my age. So sad eh? The good news is, I can go eat my favorite chili crab! Super Delicious!

I am having a terrible flu, first day started a excruciating sore throat and headache. I slept early and next day, the sore throat was gone but my nose were stuff. I had a hard time sleeping because I cannot breathe. Headache was still on. Thank goodness, I got a MC.
Third day, the nose is runny and stuffy but I still have to work to clear my stuff. Good thing, I can work from home.
I still cannot breath with the stuffy nose. Then I remembered I got a bottle of nasal drop. Actually it was my children. I put a drop in each nose and miraculously it was clear. I could breathe again and slept like a log. Woke up, nose stuffy again. Sigh. Thank goodness it is Friday!

Once in a while I have the same weird dreams. I am not sure you have it too. I am always getting a full bladder and tried to locate a toilet. When I found one, it is usually dirty or it has no door. Worst is one time, I could not find any and I had to do it at some weird places. Do you have this kind of dream?
Yes, when I wake up, 99% my bladder is full and I need the toilet. Once I even dream I did go to the toilet and urinated but my bladder was still full. Nope I didn’t urinate on my bed. It is really strange. Anyway, I will tried not to drink too much water before sleep to avoid these weird dreams.

I am not a person who can read a book from cover to cover unless it is a comic book. I have read many books but never finished reading it. Most of the time I will scan read and skip chapters. Do you do that?

However I need to read to learn the latest and upgrade myself. I have so many books that I want to read but I don’t have a lot of time. Look at the stack of books I have to read to prepare my big task next year. I am already sweating now. I have been called to take up the Sunday School as a superintendent. So pray for me.
Not to mention, I also need to read books related to work. I am so glad with the technology today, I can just do a quick reading on the Internet for the latest techie news. Sad to say, many young people read a lot of stuff from the net but not actually reading a book. For me I still prefer the good old book.
Now I wished there is an osmosis process to transfer the books stuff to my brain just like that. Ok I am dreaming…..

I have a sleepy time zone. I get very sleepy when it is around 7pm – 10pm. The other day I had a meeting at 9:30pm and I was really sleepy at 8pm. I could hardly open my eyes. However I took a short nap but it was not sufficient. I had to wash my face.
After the meeting, I was so alert and not sleepy. I can go on working till very late up to 4am. What’s wrong with me? Even if I sleep early at 9pm, I still get sleepy the next day at 7pm.
Maybe I have the sleepy time zone. By the way, no matter how early I sleep, I still cannot wake up early in the morning. Yeah I am not a morning person. I am the owl!

Today was another busy day for me. I have a small church gathering in my house and I had to prepare food. Fortunately I have a part time maid who cleans my home today.
The day started in the morning where I had to work. There were a few issues that need my attention. I am not sure why people like to create issue on Friday. Last minute work I suppose.
During my lunch break, I had to cut the fruits, prepare the cups, drinks and plates. On top of that, I had to fetch my son to school. Next, I had to send my car for service.
I will be going outstation during CNY and it is better to service the car before CNY. Worst is, the mechanic found out the black oil bucket is leaking. I need to change it but the spare part is not available. I had to go back again.
By the way, while they were servicing my car. I had to login to work there. I like the service center as it provide Internet service. I can kill 2 birds in one stone. Imagine I helped my colleague solve her printer & network problem when I was there. I completed what I needed to do.
The customer service gal told me my car is ready but they forgot to change my seat belt buckle which was faulty. In the bill, they charged me for it. I was late and told them to do it next week.
I had to go pick my son up and fetch some nyonya kuih plus dinner. Upon returning home, prepare the rest of the food and ready to welcome the guest.
The hardest part is the cleaning up afterwards. I had to mop the floor, clean up and take out the garbage. Now I am sitting right here, telling you all about it. Isn’t this a good achievement? With a day like this, who needs fat burner pills.
All in a day’s work!

Two days ago, someone called me up to say there is a big problem with his PC. He told me that all his web applications cannot run. He was blaming the network, he has to blame something right. It wasn’t the network as I tried accessing some URL and it was successful.
Next, he told me it was the application problem. It cannot be because 3 web applications cannot run. After I did some troubleshooting, I found out the scripting doesn’t work on the browser. Conclusion, the browser was the culprit. I checked the setting to ensure scripting is enabled and even set the lowest security. The browser still remains problematic.
After a few hours of troubleshooting and running out of workable idea, I asked him to install firefox. With firefox, all his web applications work.
However, he still needs the IE to be fixed. Today basically I asked him to reformat the PC because the IE is corrupted big time. He even installed IE7 and still all his applications didn’t work. Funny thing is that there is no version, product id and info showing in the IE about box.
Oh well, I didn’t give up and thought maybe reapplying XP Service Pack 2, it may get it to work. After applying the XP Service Pack 2, it restarted the PC. Now it is still in processing mode and never got to the login screen, after an hour. Bumma, now he really has to reformat the PC. It is just not my day with fixing things.
I am still keeping my finger cross, that it will complete processing and go to the login screen. Tomorrow will be a new day!

Today is the final workday for year 2008. I am not looking forward to year 2009 as you and I know, bad times have hit us. Let’s hope the economy will picked up and go back to normal.
I will go off for Christmas and New Year break. However, my director just given the department a task to capture our holidays moments. Now I am really scratching my head on what I should take. Should I take a picture
1. Of me sleeping?
2. Of me having a good meal?
3. Of me shopping?
4. Of me relaxing in a SPA or near a pool?
5. Of me sun bathing?
Any good ideas? I am not told what the prize would be but he was serious about this task.
Anyway, to everyone:

Many people are addicted to coffee and my mom is one too. However I cannot drink coffee. I remembered when I was young, I was okay with coffee. It did no harm to me right until my University days. It happened one day when I had those boxed coffee drink with milk. I was sick for the whole day.
After that, whenever I a sip coffee, I will be sick. I will feel nausea, heart pound faster and just not myself. I am not sure why but it seems that my body system cannot accept coffee. If you say it is caffeine but I can take coke or tea. What’s with coffee that I cannot take? Someone told me that coffee is too heaty for me.
I do love the smell of coffee but just can’t take it. My mom can take coffee like 3 times a day. I wonder does my children have coffee problem.
I just accidentally drank coffee as I speak because I thought the free cup coming from the vending machine was milk tea. Oooh I am going to feel sick.

When petrol price went up, I didn’t feel anything. When food price went up, I didn’t feel anything. When café food went up, I didn’t feel anything.
Today, I felt the pinch. This morning I didn’t have time to go for morning breakfast at my local kopitiam. I decided that I will go to office and get something to eat. First I went to the vending machine to get my usual cup of milo. I put in 60 sen and a cuppa of hot water came out. Darn vending machine was out of order. Never mind, I scroll down to my office convenient store to buy a small pack of 3-in-1 milo powder. It cost RM1.00 (40% marked up). I also went to the café to get a piece of marble cake, it costs another RM1.00. Total spend: Rm2.60 and my tummy still growling.
I should have gone for the local mamak store, eat 1 piece of roti canai and a glass of teh tarik ice. Total cost: RM1.80 with a happy tummy. Sigh!
People are suffering and what does our gomen doing? They are more concern with the darn politics and internal affairs. No one taking care of the haze (people’s health), no one taking care of the poor people, no one taking care of upgrading kebangsaan schools and the children education system. I feel more than a pinch!

I started playing Rubik cube when it was first introduce to public that was in 1980. I remembered mine came with a formula sheet. My brother and I learn the formula since then. I played it so much that I was told by the school prefect not to bring it to school.
Anyway, the formula stayed with me all these years. There was one step I forgotten exactly how to do but I improvise. Oh I love solving this type of problem solving gadgets. It is fun and makes my adrenaline high.

I always like to buy milo or teh tarik from my office vending machine. However I have a bad habit. When I insert the coins to the vending machine, I like to insert the bigger coins first. It is not very smart of me to do because once the vending machine ate up my coins. End up, I will loosing the higher value money.
I am trying to change my bad habit but sometimes the hand work faster than my brain. Lets hope I can train my hand to wait for my brain signal.

I believe blogging has gone to a whole new world, ever since paid post came into the picture. We used to write good quality post but sad to see many just writing for the sake of getting paid. I don’t deny that I often do that too. However there are lines I do not cross.
There are offers that I do not take such as gambling, pornography, alcohol and cigarettes paid post. In fact I reject a handful of gambling paid post that has a very attractive paid out. I mean I have to blog what is right, true to self and what to avoid.
As a parent, how can you teach a child not to gamble when I write or promote gambling sites in my blog. Lets us keep and maintain the value of our blog. Do not let money drive the value down.
My stand is even if someone offers to pay me more than 1K to blog about some gambling site. I will still not take the offer. Would you?

Today my colleague treats the department to Pizza Hut. As you know the salad bowl they provide is very small and shallow. I was always designated as the salad stacker. I am not a pro but I can stack up to feed 10 hungry souls. This comes with a lot of practice and also the way the Pizza Hut staff cuts the salad.
First you have to put a thin layer of lettuce at the bottom. Start a small corner with some coleslaw. Align the cucumber in a straight line, closely with the coleslaw supporting it. You can put other stuff to support the cucumber. When the cucumbers are closely aligned in a circle, you can stack widely. Before stacking the food, leave some space for the sauce, so that it will not split. Later, you can close the sauce with some shredded carrots or cucumbers. You can begin the stack the honey dews and the water melon. If the water melon is cut in cubes, it will be easier to stack like blocks.
Wah lah….
By the way, I only do this when I am eating with a crowd. For my family, I probably will just take what I like because only 2 of us who like salad. I am not going to waste the food.
Happy Trying!!

I thought I am done with IRB. I have gotten my PIN and even completed my e-filling for 2007. A “mission” letter came from them yesterday asking me to declare my PCB for 1995 & 1996. It was not asking me to fill it in but to request my ex-employer to complete it.
Now it is really a mission, first of all, if you want my ex-employer to fill it in, they should send the letter to my ex-employer directly. Hey, I am not even sure whether they are still around. Secondly, they want record dated 1995, that is 12 years ago. I thought the policy is to keep 5 or 7 years record? I am not sure they even have that record. In IT, most systems survive at most 5 years and later will need to be upgraded or migrated. Imagine, 12 years ago, they were running on first version of Microsoft Windows, not it is going to VISTA. Worst case is the companies all have close shop and where are we going to get the data? My children will say “So Silly!”
Being a “collector”, I do keep everything all the tax documents, just in case something like this happens. Imagine I have all my pay slips from my first job till now. Anyone knows how to write a good letter in Bahasa Malaysia? I will tell them that I cannot get hold of my previous employer and these are the documents I have. By the way, I already settle it in KL tax office before I moved to Penang. IRB oh IRB, when will you improve your service and not give us any paperwork?

New discovery I made today. A few days ago, I made a photocopy of myKad. Today I looked at the photocopy and saw the word SALINAN (aka copy). Opps, I thought myKad had the word there, it will be fake if it does. I took a look at it and it didn’t…Phew. You figure it out, how it gets there. Try yours and see.

Yesterday, my company organized a seminar by Lawrence Walter Ng. It is a very interesting seminar to motivate us. The main objective of this seminar is not motivation but how we should change our ways to serve our customers.
What is so cool about this seminar? Have you been to a seminar where everyone is motivated to participate, one way or another in a game, Q&A or volunteering to go up stage. There were more than 300 attendees. I must say the style of the trainer were very good. He is one of best speaker in Asia and he is a Malaysian. I am impressed by his work. There is just so much energy in the seminar.
If you are stress, depressed, not motivated with work/life or sad, just attend his seminar. He will teach you something that makes you see your life/problems in a different approach.
For example:
No Failures, Wrong Result, Change Strategy
There are no failures in life. We are not failures. However there are things we do that produces wrong result. Therefore we need to change strategy to produces the right results.
Often we hear these negative words:
- There are so many problems…
- I got scolded from my boss
- So difficult, cannot do…
- I don’t know…
- I’ll try …
- No Problem.
Change it to positive thoughts:
- There are so many problems -> There are so many challenges.
- I got scolded from my boss -> I got a message from my boss.
- Difficult -> Interesting.
- I don’t know. -> I find out.
- I’ll try. -> I do my best.
- No Problem -> My Pleasure.
By the way, he also gives out seminars to students who find problems in studying. The seminar is called “Art of Learning”. Pretty cool guy! He made me do a lot of silly things in the seminar itself that I never thought I will do.

I love jigsaw puzzles, not those 100 pieces but 1000 or 5000 pieces. The satisfaction of getting the right piece to fit, increases my adrenaline. It takes me 3 days to complete a 1000 pieces. Once I start, I cannot stop. Trick is to do the corner pieces and work your way in. Collect the same color tone pieces and match those first.
Once you have completed it, apply the glossy glue on top of the puzzle and not below, you will be wasting glue if you apply it at the bottom. The glossy glue will give a shine on the surface. Do not frame it will glass as glass will reflect and when you look at it, it is not so nice.
During my Uni days, I did like 20-30 puzzles cheap ones, gave it all away. Now I do not have time for it after having 2 kids. Hey I did one during my confinement. Maybe when they grow up, I may restart and fill my house with jigsaw puzzles. By the way, I love solving puzzles too.
