My custard apple plant germinated from seed since Feb 2013. I would like to track how long it takes to bear fruit. Let’s hope I don’t kill it first.
Little birds came to my garden to make nest. This is not the first time…
My friend shared this with me and it is an amazing video on how to clean your silver jewelry or utensils. All you need is salt and some aluminum foil.
Watch it yourselves….
I started planting cucumber last November from seeds. The plant grew very well and produces lots of flowers. However most of the flowers are male flowers. Every leaves it produce, it has 2-3 male flowers. Two weeks ago, I was quite excited to see 1 female flower from the lot. The sad part was I had to go for a 1 week vacation.
After I came back, I could not find the female flower anymore. It is a mystery to me how it vanished. I suspect that the bug must have eaten it. Now I have to wait for another one to come by so that I can have a big fat cucumber!
If you are traveling and no one is at home to water your plants. You can do this.
Take a piece of unwanted cotton cloth and cut it into strips. Take a container with cover. The cover is to prevent any mosquito laying eggs into the water. Fill the container with water. Dip one end of the strip into the water and the other end, into the soil. It will absorb the water into the soil. Hope this tip helps your plants to get water even when you are not around.

I tasted the best Mamak Mee Goreng from Penang Bangkok Lane. Usually I do not like mee goreng (aka fried noodle in mamak style) because it is very spicy. I cannot taste anything but chili. However this one that I have eaten, it is so tasty and not spicy at all. The sotong (squid) is done just right and absolutely delicious.
If you are at Bangkok Lane Penang, do order 1 yourself!

Lately it has been raining very heavily in my garden. Some plants were drowning with water. I notices the leaves started to turn yellow. It is not a very good sign.
Sometimes we do not know how much to water and if we water too much, the soil become over damp. It will cause the root to rot or create fungus. The moisture meter is a very good measuring gadget to test if the soil is dry, just right or too wet. It is very easy to use. All you have to do is to poke it into the soil and the indicator will let you know.
Next I will be getting a PH meter too! Cannot wait for the parcel to arrive!
School break ended and today is the start of traffic congestion for parents or school bus sending kids school. Most people, waking up early to beat the jam. Anyway that is not what I wanted to post. 🙂
I wanted to post a simple way to wrap school books or any books for that matter. I am sure this will help any parents wrapping school books for their children. First you need to get good quality PVC clear wrappers, a pair of scissors and a pen. That’s all you really need. If you want to secure the wrapper, you can use some tapes. In this video, I didn’t use any tapes.
Tapes can leave a yellow mark on the book. So stick the tape on the wrapper instead. Enjoy the video.
