I love beef noodles. I missed Pho, Vietnamese beef noodles from San Jose. It is the best I tasted so far. I don’t know how they make the soup to be so tasty. It is best eaten on a cold day. The serving is humongous.
Near to Penang, the local beef noodles also very delicious. I found one along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, next to Ayamas which is superb. You have to try it. I will ask them to add more vegetables and beef tripe. Now I feel like having a bowl of this.

During Chinese New Year I have been eating a lot of fried snacks. Do you know I never bought any cookies or tidbits for Chinese New Year? Most of it is given by my friends and relatives. They are homemade too. I am getting small pimples at the body area, maybe overloaded with fatty stuff after eating those oily yet delicious fried chips. I am glad it is little pimples else I have to go look for acne products that work to apply on my body.
I guess my bad case of food poisoning help me to stop taking fried food altogether. Now my skin is back to normal. I still missed the Chinese New Year yew sang!

Oh I miss the Clam Chowder in Fisherman Wharf in San Francisco. Every time I go, I must have it. It is creamy and has lots of clam in it. I wonder anyone here make it as good as the one we get there. If yes, please let me know. I can have a few bowls of this. It goes well with the fried calamari too. Simply delicious!

Today I am very disgusted with pizza hut because they delivered me uncooked chicken. I bite into it and found something not right. Immediately, I spit out everything that is in my mouth. I looked at it and found the skin and the internal parts not cook! Only the outside is cooked. 95% of the chicken wing is raw.
My goodness, how can they serve this to the customer?
Pizza Hut, I will never buy from you again! Look for yourself….

I just returned from my business trip and I must say when I was there, I didn’t have a good appetite. Even though food was free but I didn’t have much. Losing my appetite was one of the most effective weight loss pills for me.
However I am glad I got to taste the Boston clam chowder in Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. It tasted so good and so was the fried calamari. Maybe I was hungry due to the traffic jam that went on for hours. There was an air show on that day.

If you see a long queue, that is where the great food is. I went to the mall and I saw this long queue of people. They are mall waiting for their orders to be made. I see a chef doing some teppanyaki grill chicken, shrimp and beef. It smells good. I ordered the shrimp teppanyaki. Boy it tasted so good!
I hope after eating it, I won’t get any acne problem, then I would need to find the best acne treatment.
I would recommend that food place to anyone. It is at Delaware Christiana Mall, Suki Hana. I will sure go back for more.

I tasted the best scones in Cameron Highlands in T-Café, a small coffee shop opposite the Tanah Rata bus station. It was served with cream and homemade strawberry jam.
After that, I was looking for recipe to make some. Do you know that scones were the first thing I learned how to bake? I took home science in school and it was the first recipe in the book. It is really sad that home science is no longer a subject in school. I learned how to bake, cook and sew from it.
I found a couple of good recipe online. I haven’t been baking for a long while. The first batch of scones, I forgot to put sugar after I made the dough. The second batch was better but the third batch was perfect.
The second & third batch recipe was from the same recipe. They need buttermilk. If you cannot find buttermilk, all you have to do is to put 1 tablespoon into the milk and leave it for 5-10 mins. You will see curd forming in the milk. It makes the scones smell really good.
I believed the technique of doing scones must be correct to get delicious scones. I watched a couple of video from YouTube to learn the technique.
Here is the recipe that I used to make the second & third batch: http://www.joyofbaking.com/SconesCoffeehouse.html. On the fourth batch, I put egg as my friend suggested. It taste good too.
You try it!

I cannot wait to go back to my hometown. First I will be enjoying my mom’s home cook food, she is a good cook. She cooked simple dishes but delicious, yet nutritious. We Cantonese will have soup every time we have a meal. Soup that is boiled for 3-4 hours using charcoal stove.
Secondly, there are plenty of varieties of good food in my hometown. I am planning to go for steamboat buffet. The place is called Shabu-Shabu. Each person will have his/her own soup to dip the food in. I love their marinated meat. Yummy!
With all the good food, maybe I should prepare to buy phentermine, just in case.
I am counting the days.

Every time I eat too much seafood which I love, I get pimples popping up. I will choose food over beauty any day. At least there is good acne treatment out there that can help me.
The other day I just had the most delicious crab. The crab meat was so soft and it was steam with wine. I tell you I can eat a 2 to 3 big huge crab by myself. I just love seafood of all kinds. I had crabs, steam fish, big prawn and shellfish. Too bad they didn’t have any mussels. A cheese bake mussels would be great. There is a place called Tambun, 30 minutes drive from Penang Island where you can have cheap and good seafood.

It is in SEASON!!! Yeah it is one of my favorite fruit. Some countries may not have this fruit, it is really too bad for them.
The fruit is purple outside but the edible part is white. It is juicy, sweet and very nutritious. I heard now they have pure juice extract from mangosteen. I wonder how many mangosteen to make a bottle of juice.
Do you know that if you look at the bottom of the fruit, you can tell how many edible white parts in the fruit? Example the one in the picture has 7 petals which mean it has 7 white parts in the fruit. I love choosing more petals. Simply delicious, if your country does not have this fruit and you are in Malaysia, you have to try it.

Do you believe it that twice I went to Pizza Hut here in Penang, Malaysia, twice they do not have what I ordered? They are always running out of food. I am very curious how they do they inventory management.
I ordered pasta, they told me no penne pasta.
I ordered salad, they ran out of coleslaw and another time, ran out of thousand island sauce.
I ordered ice-lemon tea, they ran out of ice.
I ordered ice-cream, they ran out of strawberry or chocolate flavor.
Management if you are reading this blog, you better upgrade your food inventory. If not, you are just chasing your customers away unless you don’t bother. I wonder if one day, you will run out of pizza to sell.

Absolutely love Shabu Shabu at Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park in Klang Valley. After a few days of eating the Chinese New Year food which consist of a lot of meat, my family decided to eat something soupy with lots of vegetables to wash down the meat.
We chose Shabu Shabu steamboat. It is a buffet style with conveyer belt to serve you. You can pick anything from it. It has meat, seafood, lots of vegetables, bean curd (taufu), seaweed, egg and mushrooms. They have pork, beef and lamb for meat. I love them all, it is cut into thin slices and taste superb.
I like it because each individual has its own steamboat pot and soup. They have tom yam, miso and chicken soup. For dessert, they have free flow of fruits and ice-cream.
I will certainly go back again. Let’s hope they open one here in Penang too!

Finally I got to be back and eat my mom’s delicious home cook meal. Now I am full to the brim. Tell me how to reduce body fat? Every time I come home, she will cook up a scrumptious meal for my family. I must say that she is a good cook too.
Today it is the Chinese New Year Reunion dinner and I am happy to be back. I come back every alternate year. Tomorrow my home will be a very noisy but happy place. My aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives will come to visit us. There will be a lot of catching up and probably mahjong time. It is definitely great to be back.

No pun intended. I have been deceived by Lipton and next time I will stick to Boh. I bought a packet of Black Kiss Milk Tea. It is something new in the market, I thought I give it a try.
After I made my first cup, it smell and taste like coffee instead of milk tea! I looked at the ingredient, it has coffee powder….YEAKKKKKKKKKK!! I get sick when I drink coffee and they should put added coffee in the front of the label. If I have bad allergy towards coffee, I will sure sue them!

Many asked me where are the good food in Penang. Well, good food is everywhere. I believed everywhere you go, there are hawker stalls. Most hawker stalls have asam laksa, chow kuew tiew, Penang G cheong fun with dark prawn paste and others.
I always passed by the Sg Pinang Food Court when I am on the Jelutong Highway and I decided to drop by for some good food. I must say that there are a lot of varieties of food there. If you are here, you should go. It is not hard to find if you go on the Jelutong Highway heading to town. You have to go early to get a place to sit, it is always filled with people.
One special store is the BBQ seafood stall. Many varieties of seafood that you can bbq to eat. I ordered the special bbq brinjal. It is the most expensive brinjal I ever eaten. It cost me RM8. From a local point of view, it is costly.

You must try this place if you are visiting Penang. It is not very hard to find.

Today where can you find a bowl of Asam Laksa for RM1 about US 30 cents? Seriously, there is and the place is in Kuala Jalan Baru, Balik Pulau, Penang. The stall is set up very long ago, asam laksa used to be only 30 sens.
It is also a DIY asam laksa stall, meaning you scoop your own noodle, cut your own cucumber, onions, kunyit, chili and scoop your own hot soup. You can put as much as you one in the bowl with no extra cost. Of cause the bowl is small.
The stall is managed by a malay family. I loved the Asam Laksa here. I can have at least 2 bowls of it on any day. If you go to Balik Pulau, you must go taste the special DIY laksa.

I just love Korean Food especially the kimchi pot hot pot with different vegetables, taufu and noodle. Yummy
~~~. I also love the BBQ meat but the beef was a little tough and pricey. I kind of like the pork better. Of course, you must have the ginseng chicken soup too.
Daorae, the Korean BBQ Restaurant is at I-Avenue in Penang island. The service is very good and the food is simply delicious. When my family was there, they gave us a room and had our private dining. The chef came and visited us and my children were amazed at how tall his chef hat was.
Overall it is a good place to go. There were many little dishes that were given free with plenty of cool tea. The place is run by Korean and I would want to go back there again. Now enjoy the pictures….
I love cherries. I first got to taste cherries when I was in Australia studying. I love it ever since. I used to carry a big box back every time I come home for holidays. Cherries have a very short life span after it is pluck. You cannot really keep them very long, it will go bad. It is one of the reasons why it is so expensive in Malaysia.
When I was in US, I was so happy to see cherries. It is selling 1.28 per lb. It is so cheap and yummy. I bought 2 lb right away. If I get it here, it will be RM10 for probably 20 cherries.
I managed to loot another 6 lb back from Costco to carry home to Malaysia. I gave half to my in laws and the rest were gone within a few days. If only we can plant cherries here, I will have a garden of it. If anyone coming here from US, bring me cherries!
Have you eaten this before when you were in primary school? I love to eat this and I remembered my canteen is selling at 5 sen for 2 sticks. Even today, I love to eat it. It is sold at my local supermarket.
Basically it is fried fish stuff but it taste delicious. It has some sesame seed on it. If you leave it in the fridge, it becomes crunchy. My son loves it. Too bad his school canteen does not sell it. His school canteen is pretty pathetic, nothing much is sold there.
My school canteen has almost everything. We have asam laksa, noodle soup, karipap, all kind of fizzy drinks and of coz my favorite junk food store. The canteen lady even knew me by name. See I am so popular in her store. She does give me extra noodles when I buy from her.
I also missed the ice balls with Sarsi syrup. One ice ball was sold of 5 sens. It is kind of messy to eat. Normally I just suck the icy juice. Of coz there is this ice-cream potong. You get to spin the small ferris wheel and when it stop, the needle will determined how many stick of ice-cream you get. Once I got 10 sticks. Fortunately I have my friends to help me finished it. These were sold outside of school gate which is not legal. Those were the day.
Penang is having its durian season and I love durian. Penang has all kinds of different durians. Some are very tasty and creamy too. Yesterday I had durian for dinner and boy it was delicious. I may need some nuphedra to burn some durian FAT.
I am still eyeing on Ang Hei aka Red Prawn. I didn’t get to taste it as the nursery I went to, do not have it yet. The owner told me to come back in a couple of days. Most of the durian is priced at RM8-RM12 per kilo.
My family had more than 10 fruits. Wow I can feel the heat after the durian feast. These few days, I will probably go for cooling food. Juicy watermelon should be good. Remember if you want to be healthy, eat lots of fruits, vegetables and drink lots of water.
