Berjaya Langkawi Resort Hotel

It is a great resort in Langkawi. I did enjoy my stay there for 3 nights without much problem. Before the trip, I did read some feedbacks on tripadvisor.com about the hotel. It was a mixed feeling. I was kind of confused why certain people gave lots of positive feedback and the others gave negative. Probably the negative ones didn’t get good rooms or they had high expectations.

I must say the kampung chalet does give me a feel that I am closer to nature. However the condition of the rooms does not portray a 5 stars hotel room for the value they charged. They do need some sort of refurbishing. The bathroom has a couple of stains, bottom of the bathtub is slightly cracked, TV is old, furniture is outdated and the resort facilities are limited.

The swimming pool is very wide. If they add in a slide for kids, it will be perfect. I kind of like the water wall by the side of the pool. There is a portion of the pool that provided some sort of Jacuzzi.

There are other activities available in the hotel like nature walk, water sports, beach play, swimming in the sea where they block off from water sports and lots of beach chair for a nice tan.

One more thing that may cause an inconvenient, some of the chalet are a distance from the lobby. You need to ride shuttle van to and from the room. However the wait is just 5-10 minutes. I am pleased that the chalet given to us is walking distance from the lobby.

The price of the rooms is a little steep if you asked me. I would go back if I still get the Berjaya Membership rates from my good friend. My family did enjoy the resort.

Clam Chowder

Oh I miss the Clam Chowder in Fisherman Wharf in San Francisco. Every time I go, I must have it. It is creamy and has lots of clam in it. I wonder anyone here make it as good as the one we get there. If yes, please let me know. I can have a few bowls of this. It goes well with the fried calamari too. Simply delicious!

Orlando Vacation

I am looking around for a contest that can win me a Orlando vacation. I would want to bring my family there. Orlando has the Big 4 theme parks there. I am sure my children would love to stay there, adults would too. I remembered when I step foot into Disneyland, I become a child again. It is a great feeling.

If you know of any cost efficient way to get me there, I would love to know. It will certainly be a dream holiday for my family!

Statue Of Liberty

Statue Of Liberty is a must visit in New York, after all, it is the most popular icon in the world. It is located in an island called Liberty Island where I need to take a ferry across. Before going on board, there will be a queue for security check. There are things you are not allow to carry on board. I guess after the Sept 11, every major historical place will have security check.

When I was there, there was a long queue. However I was happy to have met 2 tourists who asked for direction. We were going to the same spot so I asked them to follow me. In turn, they helped me with their fast past to get through the long queue.

Here are some beautiful shots I took.

Disgusted With Pizza Hut

Today I am very disgusted with pizza hut because they delivered me uncooked chicken. I bite into it and found something not right. Immediately, I spit out everything that is in my mouth. I looked at it and found the skin and the internal parts not cook! Only the outside is cooked. 95% of the chicken wing is raw.

My goodness, how can they serve this to the customer?
Pizza Hut, I will never buy from you again! Look for yourself….

Walking into New York Times Square is like walking on a streets surrounded by lights. The ambient just blow me away. It is something like Vegas minus the casino. I am glad I have a chance to go there. I wished I had more days there.

Most of the building has LCD screens like TV, flashing the ads. One building, pictures below was completely covered with LCD screen. Look for yourself!

Cabin Furniture

I always like wood furniture and today I discover some cool cabin furniture from the net. They are long lasting and add style to your home. The collections they have are vast and I am sure you will find something you like too.

On top of that, you get matching mirror, chair, table, dressers and much more to add to your home theme. If only I have a new cabin to decorate.

Trip To New York

I had to go the US for work and it was kind of a rush planning. First my US Visa has expired after 10 years of usage. I had to reapply and traveled down to Kuala Lumpur for the interview. The interview was only 5 minutes for me but I had to wait in queue for more than 90 minutes. It was a busy morning.

After I got my Visa, I had like 2-3 weeks to plan out my trip. This is the first time I am flying the east coast, meaning I get to land in New York. It was a golden opportunity for me to see New York. I wanted to do it after my work is done in US. However, an email came from a manager asking me to go to west coast for a meeting. I guess my plans had to change. It means I will have to visit New York first before work.

New York is an expensive place. The hotels are more than USD150 per day. I was working on a tight budget. I went online to search for good breakfast and bed. I found a good deal with this lady, she was renting out her spare room for US$60 per day. I negotiated with her and she gave me a discount totaling $150 for the trip, with no tax. Definitely a great deal. Her place was very near to the bus stop, one bus to New York City. She was a very nice lady too.

Next I got a New York pass that comes with Hop On and Hop Off buses around New York City, totaling USD135 for 2 days. The pass gets me free entrance fee for most of the places of attraction like Statue of Liberty, Museums, Madame Tussaud, Empire State Building, Top of The Rock and many more.

First Day
It was a rainy day and I had to wear poncho on the bus. It was not a good day so I decided I will go to Madame Tussaud, Top of The Rock and Empire State Building. At the end of the day, I did some shopping at Times Square. It was mostly window shopping, nothing much to buy.

Meet The President.

Top Of The Rock
It was a great view up there. I can have a great view of Empire State Building from here.

Empire State Building
This was cool, a must go for everyone. You have to plan it well. At first, I wanted to go up in the morning but the guard told me that the view was not good as it was cloudy. It was raining too. The guard asked me to come back at 5pm. I did and the queue was not bad.

At 5pm, the rain stopped and the view was amazing. I decided that I would stay to see the sun set. I made the right decision and the sun set was splendid. You can see the pictures below.

Great Beds

October 8, 2010 | Permalink | Comments Off on Great Beds

I don’t know about you but I like to sleep on hotel beds, I believed they buy good quality orthopedic mattress. It is so comfy and I always have trouble getting up.

Your bed is very important to you as it must support your backbone as you sleep. If the mattress is too tough, you may wake up to a sore back. If it is too soft, you probably feel uncomfortable sleeping on it.

Do your backbone a favor, get good quality mattresses.
