Never The Same

Don’t you hate it when you cooked some dish following the cookbook but it turns out that the looks does not match the picture of the cookbook. The other day I wanted to try out the Baliness Chilies Squid. Somehow I must have put too much turmeric, it doesn’t match the picture. Look for yourselves:

Anyway it tasted good!

Recycle Exhibit

If everyone do his/her bit on recycling, it will improve the environment for the future generation. I don’t buy smaller bottles of detergent anymore. I go for huge volume that I can refill onto a used small bottle. Now there are BYOB outlets called Bring Your Own Bottles to buy detergent or washing liquid. It is cheaper as you do not pay for bottling process and the bottle itself.

Anyway, here is a recycle exhibit that I went to where people make display out of recycle stuff. It was held at Leisure Mall Cheras on Mid-Autumn Festival Day. Some of them are really cool! It gives me great idea on what to do with my used bottles.

Way To Go Shila Amzah!!!

You made Malaysians proud. For those who don’t know what’s happening, just watch the video. She won the Asian Wave 2012.

Her singing gives me goose bumps too and so much emotion in there. A Malay singing Mandarin song with perfect pronunciation. Really put me to shame.

I watched the video many times and I still like it.

Penang is having a Chinese festival and in most part of the streets you will find Chinese Opera Performance. Today I went passed one while visiting the night markets. I was surprised that a live performance even has subtitles. They display the subtitles in Chinese on a LED display. Isn’t that cool?

I love to eat chicken wings and I discover the simplest way to make healthy chicken wings.

Ingredients
Chicken Wings
2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
Pepper
2 tablespoon Honey

    1. Mixed all the ingredients together in a bowl. Cover it and put it in the fridge for 1 hour.

    2. Heat up the oven to 350°C for 15 minutes.

    3. Put aluminum foil on the pan and grease it a little.

    4. Lay those wings on top, brush those marinated sauce on the wings to keep it moist.

    5. Put it into the oven and baked for 15 minutes.

    6. Brush more marinated sauce on the wings. Make sure the wings do not stick on the foil

    7. Lower down the oven heat to 200°C and baked for another 15 minutes.

Wah la…juicy baked wings!

iPhone Unlocked

I bought an iPhone 4 a year and a half ago when I was in US. I thought I could unlock it easily to any telco. However after a few months, no one is able to come up with an unlock app. It was really sad because I couldn’t use it in Malaysia. I wonder why Apple wants to sell locked phones.

After 2-3 months, someone release Gevey SIM and I could use to connect to my local country telco. At least, I can phone with it. I was happy again!

A few weeks back, I heard that I can unlock the iPhone using IMEI code. I found someone in the internet that can do it for me. If I fully unlocked the phone, I can either sell it or give it to someone to use it, if I choose to use my free Samsung Note.

Finally, my iPhone is fully unlocked and I can use any telco on it. *grinning* If you want to unlock your iPhone 4, let me know. I know someone who can do it for small fees.

Recommended Cameron Highlands Apartment

A few months ago, I started to look for a good apartment in Cameron Highlands for our Raya holiday vacation. Lots of people tell me that it will be super jam during Raya! I decided to pick a place where is it near eatery and easy access to attractions. I browse through lots of website and those who went said that Brinchang is the best place.

There is a new property called Brinchang Imperial Court and a lot of owners are renting it out. By the way, during peak season most hotel or apartment rentals are expensive. I got to rent a unit for RM400. It has 3 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. For this unit the master and second bedroom has a queen size bed and a superior single bed. The third room has a queen size bed. Plenty of space for 2 families to stay.

It also has a kitchen, living room and Astro. We wanted to do steamboat ourselves, so the kitchen would be great for us. It has a great view too!

The location of this apartment is great. It is walking distance to night markets, eatery area, convenient stalls and Cactus Valley. You cannot get any better than this. By the way, the night market sells lots of cheap vegetables. You can get RM1 for 1 pack of vegetable.

Let me know if you want the contact number of the owner.

Imperial Court Rate
• Weekdays rate – RM 250
• Weekend rate – RM 300
• Public holiday and super peak season – RM 400

Household Tips: Gift Boxes

I am sure you have given a gift to someone before. Besides shopping for the gift, you probably need to buy a box and also some gift wrappers. Now there is an easy way to do this without spending too much. You can make beautiful gift boxes from origami. I found these tutorial videos on folding gift boxes. It is really very simple.

By the way, I bought a stack origami papers for RM$5 and with these you can make plenty of boxes! I am sure the receiver will love this because it is handmade!

iPhone: Angry Gran

Finally after months of playing Angry Gran, I collected enough virtual money to buy the Light Saber. I like this game because it releases my stress. Just whack the things virtually but don’t do it in real life. You get money every time you whack something. You can buy new tools for whacking like a bat, Christmas tree, rubber chicken and of cos the Star Wars Light Saber.

If you want a stress reliever, you can download this app.

Olympics 2012 Opening Ceremony

I was working at night on the day Olympics 2012 Opening Ceremony was on. I stayed up for another 2 hours to watch it LIVE. My TV was broken so I watched it online using my huge LCD monitor. I am glad there is an official website that broadcast it online. I must say that my home broadband was very good and smooth.

It was a great opening ceremony with history lessons, popular celebrity like Mr Bean, Beckham, Paul McCartney, James Bond and others. One thing that I liked and was surprised by it was the very high tech torch to fire up the Olympics 2012. Very well done!

Here are some pictures I took:
