Look at my new glasses, not sponsored by PPP but by my other rice pot company, one of the yearly benefits. My son broke my glasses after I told him not to go near it. He stepped on it. It was partly my fault too by putting it there.
By the way, what do you think of the optician shop out there? Do you think that they charge a fairly exorbitant rate for glasses? Last time I went to this shop, their frame price is always 40-60% above the cost price. The sales person took out the calculator and punched a 40% discount to make you feel good. Or at least he tried to psycho you with a big discount and you will be crazy to reduce it further.
Another shop which my MIL just got her glasses from. She was told that the frame is only RM1. What’s the catch? The lens cost a BOMB.
I know this reliable shop called Intan in Level 1 BJ Complex Penang, the owner gave me a very good price for the above glasses. I didn’t even negotiate with her because she gave me a very good price. It was about 40% less than the broken pair and the new pair is branded too. If any of you is using Biomedics55 contact lens, she is the sole distributor for it. It is really dirt cheap.

I think the roadside Ramli Burger is worth much more than this. Now the price of the above burger here is sky high. I just hope the MD corporate of this chain do something about the quality of the burger sold to their customers.
Service still not advancing here. I dragged going the Pos Office. I had no choice, my car insurance reminder didn’t come and I was late in renewing my road tax. Usually, my insurance company will renew my road tax but I need it today. I went to JPJ, bumma, the network was down. I had to resort to Pos Office. Usually I pay all my bills and whatever through Internet. However I cannot pay my road tax through Internet. How I wish I can. Can the government do something about this?
Anyway, while waiting for my turn, I saw many still paying bills through Pos Office. I mean I can setup a counter with Internet connection and process their bills with a fee without the wait. Hahaha..side job for anyone who wants to get a quick buck. The staff there as usual took their own sweet time. By the way, only some Pos Office provides the road tax renewal service, not all. Talk about consistency. Now do you know which Pos Office delivered this service? I don’t know too.
A good friend of mine gave me 2 free movie tickets in Prangin Mall. I can watch any shows with it. I took the children to watch Barnyard.
Barnyard was humorous with a plenty of actions to keep the children excited throughout the movie. The show talk about a heresy cow named Otis who wanted to run away from his responsibilities. However he cannot run far when his responsibilities catch up to him. His father Ben was the leader of the barn and took care of all the animals, protecting them from harm. However one night, while he was protecting some chickens from the hungry wild coyotes, he lost his life. Otis had to take over. Otis never wanted to become a leader, he wanted a fun life and love to party all night. All had to change when he was faced with it.
I must say the movie was done in a very creative manner and lots of surprises. The plot was predictable, hero saves the day kind of plot. It works for the children.

Why do I love to go Jaya Jusco? One and only one reason that is I can get cheap and tasty sushi. Every Jusco store has a sushi counter. All kinds of sushi or hand roll can be found like nigrizushi, gunkan and norimaki. Yummy. Most of them cost less than RM2 per piece.
Why do my children love to go there? They have a smaller version of kidzsport, an internal playground with fun activities. It cost RM2 per 20 minutes per child. They also have arcade types of ride. I don’t recommend that you take any of those rides, as it will burn a hole in your pocket. RM1 for 1-minute ride.
If you want to avoid traffic to Queensbay mall, go before 10am or 3-4pm or weekdays except Friday. At 3-4pm, the crowd will leave and of cause new crowd will come at 5pm for dinner. It is not as bad as Mid Valley jam though.
A few months back, I was surfing the online florist for a special gift or a gift idea. However I pretty much had some lousy experience with online florist who did not delivered what was posted on their website. Besides that, it is pretty costly or should I say overpriced for the items sold.
I wanted to give something to a special friend on her birthday and I saw a bouquet of bears, not flowers. Something that is pretty unique. As I was shopping, I saw this shop having bears for sale. I grabbed some and created this bouquet as in the picture. The cost of material is not very expensive. It is 20% of what the online florist would sell. Hey do you think I can make money selling this in Ebay? How much should I sell it for? I want to rent some Ebay space to test the market.
By the way, it took me only 20 minutes to do a bouquet like that.
I believed you have heard of Pixart and many bloggers have reviewed it. Now there is another competition that has emerged in the Malaysia market called Photobook. For some of you who may not know what I am talking about, let me enlightened you. It is an online service whereby you can purchase a personalised book with photos, just like an album. How do you start?
First you have to download their software PhotoStudio and install it on your PC. With the software, you can select and pick your photos and start building the photobook. At the end of it, preview and when you are satisfied, you can proceed to order the book. The software will load the book to the shop’s server. Lastly you have to key in details of your delivery address and make payment. Wait for 5-7 working days, it will be delivered to you.
What I like about PhotoStudio
Freestyle, you can practically create any layout, theme, background of your choice and add text anywhere on the layout.
Your directory folder tree is on the right side for easy selection of pictures with thumbnails view of all the pictures on the selected folder. There is no need to pre-select the pictures.
At the right column it has an indication of quality of the pictures in the folders. Good, Medium, Bad or Used (meaning the picture has been selected).
At the lower window, it has a small thumbnail preview of all the pages.
You can resize or move the pictures anywhere on the page. It has a grid to guide.
At the end, it gives you a warning if you forgot to fill any of the pages, the photo resolution is poor and the size of the picture is bigger than the frame.
For those poor resolution pictures, it doesn’t allow you to insert. The printing will not come out good.
It has all the fonts from your PC.
You can insert as many pictures on the page as possibly fit.
Room for improvement:
It will be good if there were a few pre-defined layouts themes for non-expert users.
Provide a scaling function to focus on selected parts of the pictures.
Provide hard cover as a selection.
Provide a box for the photobook when shipping because it can easily bend when it is not handle properly. I saw a slight dent on some of my pages. 🙁
The Photobook
It looks excellent. Picture quality is very good, similar to a developed photograph. I am impressed by it. It has a soft cover and as light as a book, you can carry it around. A great Christmas gift.

This used to be one of my hobbies during my free time. However I have been neglecting it ever since I have 2 hands full. I love making beads stuff. Oh you can also make personal cards with these beads ornaments on top.
